Launching in Australia 2026

Social media
for children,
finally built right.

Australia banned social media for under-16s. 3.5 million children have nowhere safe to connect online. Beep is the school-governed, AI-protected alternative their schools have been asking for.

Why this matters

Australia acted. Now schools need an answer.

The Online Safety Amendment Act banned TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Reddit, X and YouTube for Australians under 16 in December 2025. It was the right decision. But bans without alternatives are bans that get circumvented. Children still need to connect. The question is whether they do it safely or unsafely.

Dec
2025
Australia's under-16 social media ban came into force. Platforms face fines of up to AUD $50 million for non-compliance. School principals across Australia are actively asking: "What do we offer our students instead?" Beep is the answer.
What Beep provides

Everything a school needs.
Nothing it doesn't.

Core experience

A safe social space, school-gated
Access is verified through the child's school — not a parent email or self-reported age
Age-appropriate community features
Posts, messaging, and group spaces designed for 8–15 year olds, not repurposed adult UX
Three-layer AI content moderation
Rules engine → OpenAI omni-moderation → Claude AI for edge cases. Nothing slips through unreviewed
Project Mode for collaborative learning
Group projects with structured roles, AI-assisted tasks, and teacher visibility
Transparent parent oversight
Parents are informed partners — not locked out, not surveilling every message
Compliance-first by design
Built around Australia's APP framework, eSafety Commissioner's Safety by Design principles

Clear boundaries

Not a social media platform
No public feeds, no follower counts, no algorithmic virality or engagement loops
Not open to the public
Children can only join through their school — there is no open sign-up or app store download
Not ad-supported
No advertising, no data monetisation, no third-party tracking of children's behaviour
Not a surveillance tool
Moderation flags harmful content — it does not give parents or teachers a live feed of private messages
Not a replacement for teachers or parents
Beep supports real-world relationships — it is a digital extension of the school community, not a substitute
Not a learning management system
Beep doesn't replace your LMS or SIS — it sits alongside them as the social and collaborative layer

See Beep's three-stage
AI safety system in action.

Every message on Beep passes through three stages before it reaches other students. Select a scenario below — or type your own — and watch the system respond in real time.

Stage 1
Rules Engine
Instant automatic checks. Known harmful phrases, contact info sharing, grooming patterns, unusual activity. Each school adds their own rules.
⚡ <1 millisecond · Catches ~65% of violations · Zero cost
Stage 2
AI Safety Model
Dedicated moderation AI scores content 0–1 across: harassment, self-harm, sexual content, hate speech. Works on images too.
🔍 Catches subtle bullying · Tone-aware · Free via OpenAI
Stage 3
Specialist Reviewer
Only 5% of content reaches here. AI reads context across the whole conversation — explains to the teacher exactly what the concern is and why.
